The Local Council consistent effort in Tree planting, nurturing and maintenance necessitated this new recognition and award by LASPARK.

Speaking at the 2019 Tree Planting Day organised by the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) with the theme “Clean & Green is our Perfect Dream”, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by Dr. Ibironke Sanwo-Olu, while presenting the plague to local council chairman, Hon Monsuru Bello, said managing the environment is one of the cardinal objectives of his administration.

The governor appealed to all the citizens of the state to plant a tree as a gift in celebrating their birthday or any joyful occasion.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Chairman, the Secretary of Ejigbo LCDA Deacon Paul Fregene said the local council deserved the award having strived to ant trees in the community.

Giving vote of thanks, the LASPARK General Manager, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola appreciated the state government for the support given to the agency.

The award presentation coincided with the annual tree planting sensitisation campaign, held at Ona-Iwamimo Street, Off Ori-Oke Bus stop, Ejigbo.

In 2018, the campaign was launched at Moshalashi street, Ejigbo and in year 2017, it was launched at Lafenwa Street, Ejigbo. The Environmental Officers intend to move on to Alaba Adenekan Street, Ejigbo and Junction Road, Oke-Afa (where the construction of a Dual Carriage Way is currently on-going), before the Dry season begins.
