Don’t withhold information’ , Aswani DPO implores Isolo residents

Following the threats of  criminal invasion issued by a group of miscreants tagged 1 million boys, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Aswani Police Division, CSP Oyin Francess, has urged residents of Isolo LCDA to support the surveillance activity of the police by supplying needed information and reporting  any suspicious criminal activity.

She noted that the division has been up and doing to proactively rise to the task to checkmate the dreaded group, saying it was more important to have the cooperation of the residents by giving timely information needed to sustainably resist the nefarious activities of hoodlums.

According to her, the uproar and breach of community peace experienced last Monday in the community were carried out by streets gang but not the so called ‘One Million Boys’ as rumoured.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, Francess said: “The Commissioner of Police has warned the youths in the communities to stop using weapons and burning tyres. We are on top of the situation. We have a DIG from Abuja that the IG has sent because of this issue. We have men on standby. So, if there is any distress in the community we pull out and in no time, we are there. There is no need for the community to set up bonfire. We only need residents’ cooperation in terms of intelligent report of any suspicious activities.”

Corroborating the DPO’s statement, the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye noted that the ‘One Million Boys’ and other notorious gangs are not in Isolo as being speculated..

He therefore advised community leaders as well as residents to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the hoodlums, stressing that security of the environment should be paramount to all and sundry.
