Court remands suspect for sexual assault

 Magistrate Teslimi Shomade of the Ejigbo Magistrates Court has sentenced a 28 year old suspect to jail for sexual molestation on a lady.

The offender, Sadiq Bello, was said to have invited his lover, Idowu Adebayo to his residence in Igando for what he planned to be for a sexual activity.

According to reports, his lover denied all attempts to get his sexual desire accomplished and according to the accused, he had no other option than to attempt a forceful act on her due to his high level of being aroused.

Police Prosecutor, Kenneth Asibor told the court that the attempted rape resulted to Bello tearing the victim’s dress rendering her practically unclad.

“After entertaining her, he then proceeded to start fiddling with her breasts in order to arouse her, said Asibor.

“The accused was disappointed when all attempts to make the victim succumb to his sexual advances. In anger, the accused proceeded to molest the victim by tearing her dress and leaving her nude.”

The prosecutor said that Idowu then reported a case of assault at the Igando Police Division, upon which Bello was arrested and detained. He further stated that at the station, the accused admitted assaulting the victim.

Magistrate Shomade granted Bello bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum, and remanded him in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till November 21, 2018.
