Court Affirms Alabi As National President Of ALGON

A Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed the Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr. Kolade David Alabi as the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a verdict, dismissed a lawsuit that sought a declaration that Alabi was not qualified to lead ALGON.

The judge ruled that the subject matter of the case and the claims of the applicants were matters that ALGON could resolve internally by applying the provisions of its constitution.

The court also found that the applicants lacked the legal right to institute the suit and described it as an abuse of court process.

This decision affirms Alabi’s position and seems to put an end to the leadership tussle within ALGON.
