CDC Ejigbo Launches 2017 Annual Calendar

At the 2017 edition of the Annual Calendar Launching by the CDC Committee in Ejigbo LCDA, was held recently at the Nnokwa Hall, situated at the NNPC Junction, Ejigbo. The Chairman of the CDC group, Chief Lamariyu Giwa hinted that the purpose of the event, is to create an opportunity for the people of Ejigbo to gather and interact. Adding that, it’s also an opportunity for the CDC to demonstrate their participation in promoting unity within the community.
Giwa said, the 2017 edition, is the second of its kind, as the curtain raiser was held in 2016. Speaking at the event, Giwa made a swift run down of the 2016 edition and relate it with the 2017 edition, disclosing that challenges were faced during the planning stage of the event.
“The first of this event happened in year 2016, we are happy to see, that the people of Ejigbo welcome the idea. We thank God for doing it again this year and happy to discover that it actually pulled crowds from different parts of the community”.
Explaining that the event will be a yearly occurrence. He said the CDC Excos’ had discussions with the Sole Administrator, Hon. Ibrahim Adigun who welcomes the idea and also, promise to support them. Adding that the excos of the CDC will work together with the council, to plan an even better launching in the year 2018.
“Our aim, was to have the event in January, but we had some reasons financial constraints. The CDC excos came together and with God’s backing, we were able to raise the funds we needed to have it done today.” He said.
Top dignitaries invited to the event showed their support in backing the CDC/CDA by launching the calendar with sums of money. Providing candid advice to the group, as they look forward to a more glamorous edition in the future.
