Nigerian gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba has broken his silence following the death of his colleague, Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, saying the late singer’s passing has left an immeasurable void.
Toluwanisings’ final public appearance came at Olaoba’s worship service in Ibadan, Oyo State. He reportedly died a day later after collapsing at his home, amid reports that several hospitals turned him away.
In a tribute shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, Olaoba expressed regret that he did not know the worship service would be Toluwanisings’ final ministration before his death.
“If only I had known that your last ministration would be your final one before you joined the saints in glory, I would have held you a little longer, embraced you a little tighter, and given you the entire night to praise your God and pour out your heart before Him, just as you loved to do,” he said.
The gospel singer’s message reflected on the final moments he shared with his colleague and the pain of losing someone whose passion for worship was evident during his last appearance.
Olaoba also paid tribute to Toluwanisings’ contribution to gospel music, expressing confidence that his legacy would endure beyond his death.
Although the late singer’s time on earth had ended, Olaoba said, his “ministry lives on.”
Toluwanisings’ death has drawn attention from members of the gospel music community, with his final appearance at Olaoba’s worship service adding a poignant dimension to the tributes.
