The chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, has provided free University Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms to indigent students in Mushin.
The chairman called on stakeholders and the private sector to do more for the indigent students, stating that education is a fundamental right of every child and that no child should be left behind on the basis of finance and lack of sponsorship.
He said: “If we are to create the greater Lagos we desire, we have to start a conversation on improving the quality of education our future leaders receive and ensuring there is progress from one level to the other, our motive is to ensure that our young school leavers take the next step into tertiary institutions for further education and enlightenment.”
Bamigboye charged the beneficiaries to set national records by scoring record breaking scores, urging the students to invest their all in the forthcoming JAMB examination and avoid distractions.
To motivate the students, the council boss vowed to grant scholarships to recipients who score outstanding marks in the examination.
