Ayisat Yusuf Excited To Join Super Falcons Coaching Crew, Appreciates NFF, NSC

Nigeria ex international, Aisha Yusuf has appreciated the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for finding her worthy to be appointed as the assistant coach of the Nigeria women’s national team.

The NFF bid to reposition the Super Falcons led to the appointment of Yusuf, and Christopher Danjuma as assistant coaches to interim head coach, Augustine Eguavoen, while Olatunji Baruwa will serve as the goalkeeper trainer.

Yusuf said she’s honored to contribute her quota to the success of the Falcons while she sees the appointment as an opportunity to solve players problems on the pitch and help build a strong and competitive team for the challenges ahead.

“I want to appreciate the NFF and NSC for finding me worthy of this appointment. I am deeply honoured and excited to join the technical team of the national women’s side. This is a special opportunity to contribute to the growth of the game at the highest level, work closely with talented players, and help build a strong, competitive unit as we prepare for the challenges ahead.”

She promises to give her commitment in ensuring the Falcons qualify for the 2028 Olympics with their first round of qualifier against Comoros in October.

“I promise to give my best and support to the Falcons to regain the trust of Nigerians and ultimately qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in the USA.”

Yusuf revealed it has always been her dream to be a part of the Super Falcons technical crew as she assures of bringing her strong work ethic and professionalism into her new role.

“Being part of the national women’s setup is something I have always aspired to. I will bring energy, professionalism and a strong work ethic to help the team compete at the highest standard.”
