The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fuad Laguda has coasted home to a landslide victory in Saturday’s by-election in Surulere Federal Constituency, Lagos.

Results monitored by Echonews on IRev portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Laguda won massively in the six wards that made up the Surulere Federal Constituency.

As at 6.00pm on Saturday, all results of the 258 polling units have been uploaded, showing that the APC’s candidate won about 98 per cent of the votes cast in the election.

Core challengers, Adeola Adebanjo (Labour Party) and Jerry Afemighie (Peoples Democratic Party) posed no threat to Laguda’s aspiration.

The seat was declared vacant following Femi Gbajabiamila‘s resignation to become the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

At the time of filing this report, INEC is yet to officially announce the results of the election, but PM NEWS reports authoritatively that the APC’s candidate won by a landslide.
