Agege 2027: Obasa Declares Reps Ambition, Backs APC Assembly Aspirants
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Agege Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Obasa made his position known on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Agege, where he said party leaders and loyalists across the constituency had encouraged him to join the race.
The Speaker also used the meeting to rally support for other APC aspirants seeking elective positions in the area. He openly backed the immediate past Chairman of Agege Local Government, Ganiyu Egunjobi, for the Agege Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He equally endorsed Azeez Oladapo Yusuf Ninolowo as the preferred candidate for Agege Constituency II.
The development signals increasing political activities within the APC in Agege as aspirants continue consultations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the party primaries.
Party members and supporters at the meeting were urged to remain united and actively participate in the primary process as competition for party tickets intensifies across Lagos State.
Meanwhile, APC members in Agege, Orile-Agege and other parts of the state are awaiting the outcome of the screening exercise being conducted by the party’s state and national leadership ahead of the primaries.
