Abike Dabiri-Erewa to Lecture at LASU Convocation

The Lagos State University (LASU) will host its 29th and 30th Convocation Lecture on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, billed to deliver the lecture.

Dabiri-Erewa, who holds an honorary Doctor of Arts degree, will speak on the theme, “From LASU to the World: Harnessing the Nigerian Diaspora as the 7th Region for National Development.”
The lecture is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The session will be chaired by Hon. Tasir Wale Raji, Member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The lecture is expected to highlight the enormous potential of Nigerians living abroad and how their expertise, investments, professional networks and global connections can be harnessed to accelerate national development.

The event forms part of activities marking LASU’s 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremonies and is expected to attract members of the university community, students, graduands, alumni, distinguished guests and members of the public.
