Lagos 2027: Obasa Expresses Confidence in Hamzat’s Ability to Deliver

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashir Obasa, has expressed confidence in the ability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Obasa said Hamzat’s educational background and experience in both the private and public sectors had prepared him for the responsibilities of leading the state.
The Speaker made the remarks while addressing journalists at Hamzat’s formal manifesto presentation held on Friday at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Hamzat, the incumbent deputy governor, had previously sought the governorship ticket in 2019 before stepping down and accepting to run alongside Sanwo-Olu as his deputy.
Obasa said he was confident that Hamzat would be able to deliver on the promises contained in his manifesto, pointing to his experience and leadership record.
“He has the competence, character, and most importantly, the determination to rewrite the Lagos State socio-economic narrative,” the Speaker said.
