More than 4,000 participants are expected to take part physically and virtually in the 2nd Lagos Energy Summit, where investment opportunities and private sector participation in the state’s electricity market will take centre stage.

The 2-day summit, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, will hold on November 10 and 11, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The summit, which was initially scheduled for September, was moved to November to allow for further preparations.

The event will focus on the implementation of the Lagos State Electricity Law 2024, developments in the state’s electricity market, investment and innovation opportunities, and the evolving regulatory framework.

Participants are expected to include policymakers, regulators, investors, development partners, industry leaders, government institutions and energy sector innovators.

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye, said the summit would review progress in Lagos’ electricity sector while identifying opportunities for strategic investment.

“The Summit will not only review the progress recorded since the enactment of the Lagos State Electricity Law, but will also catalyse strategic partnerships and investments that will deliver measurable outcomes across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain,” Ogunleye said.

The programme will feature plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, investment roundtables, exhibitions and business-to-business engagements.

Discussions will cover renewable energy, electricity infrastructure, decentralised generation and energy investment, as well as the role of the sector in supporting Lagos’ transition towards a 24-hour economy.

Participants will also have opportunities to explore potential partnerships, memoranda of understanding and other investment opportunities.

Technical visits to selected energy infrastructure projects are expected to provide participants with insights into ongoing developments across the state.

The summit is themed “Lagos Energy Evolution: Transforming the Future” and is aligned with the state’s Net Zero Agenda and Vision 2030.

The organisers said the event would provide a platform for knowledge exchange and direct engagement among government institutions, regulators, investors, development partners, industry players and innovators.
