‘I’ll Do DNA Test Before Accepting Any Child’ – Mayorkun

Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has said he would conduct a DNA test before accepting any child as his own.
The ‘Body Cheche’ crooner made the disclosure during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, where he also revealed that he had discussed signing a prenuptial agreement with his girlfriend before marriage.
According to Mayorkun, he intends to combine the prenup with a DNA test whenever his partner gives birth, a position he said did not go down well with her.
“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset,” he said.
The singer further claimed that he had considered conducting the test without informing his partner, saying he would make the result public if the child turned out not to be his.
“I have thought of doing the DNA test without telling her. If it is my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it,” he added.
His comments have reignited discussions around paternity testing, trust and financial responsibility in relationships, particularly amid growing public debate over alleged cases of paternity fraud.
Some Nigerian celebrities and public figures have similarly spoken publicly about DNA testing, urging men to establish biological paternity before assuming long-term parental responsibilities.
