CAVB Recognises Nigeria Volleyball Federation Ahead Of LA Olympics
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) has recognised the Nigeria Volleyball Federation ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, following Nigeria’s historic qualification for its first-ever Olympic beach volleyball event.
Receiving the award, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod applauded the leadership of CAVB led by Mrs Bouchra Hajij for the prestigious honour.
He said: “This recognition by the CAVB is a monumental milestone for us.
“It will greatly inspire our players, our coaches, and the entire Federation to rededicate ourselves to achieving even greater heights as we look toward Los Angeles 2028.
The President of CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission also revealed that the 2027 calendar for beach volleyball will be exceptionally busy to ensure athletes receive maximum playing time and competitive exposure.
He said: “We are putting together a packed and rigorous 2027 calendar for beach volleyball.
“Our goal is to ensure our athletes get the necessary international playing time and high-level preparation required to compete globally.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation also received a special award of excellence in recognition of its vibrant activities throughout the year and its sustained commitment to grassroots developmental programs.
