Call for Applications: Cloneshouse Internship Programme 2027
Applications are now open for the 2027 Cloneshouse Internship Programme (CIP).
This is a fully remote professional development opportunity designed for young and emerging professionals interested in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), research, evidence generation, business development and impact technology.
The programme is organised by the Cloneshouse Foundation in collaboration with Cloneshouse LLC, a specialised Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning firm. It combines structured training with practical assignments, mentorship and exposure to professional development projects.
For the 2027 cohort, Cloneshouse plans to select 15 interns from eligible African countries, including Nigeria.

Applicants do not need to be experts in Monitoring and Evaluation before applying. However, candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in areas such as evaluation, evidence, development practice, research, learning, technology or related fields.
Cloneshouse is particularly seeking applicants who are curious, diligent, goal-oriented, willing to learn and prepared to actively participate throughout the programme.
What Does the Programme Offer?
The internship is designed around practical learning and professional exposure rather than classroom instruction alone.
Participants may gain experience in:

- Proposal and tender preparation
- Desk research

Interns typically undertake a three-week Basic Monitoring and Evaluation course and a six-week Advanced Programme Evaluation Management course, while working alongside mid-level and senior consultants.
Practical Learning and Mentorship
Selected interns will have opportunities to participate in assignments, group work, learning sessions and project activities.
The programme is intended to help participants move beyond theoretical knowledge and develop the ability to apply MEL concepts, analyse information, contribute to projects and work effectively within professional teams.
Past interns have also progressed into junior consulting roles within Cloneshouse, according to the organisation.
Is the Internship Paid?
The programme is described as an unpaid internship. However, project teams may, at their discretion, provide stipends to interns attached to specific projects.
Per diems and travel expenses may also be provided where interns participate in approved Cloneshouse projects that require travel.
The internship itself is 100% remote.
Number of Interns
Cloneshouse plans to admit 15 interns into the 2027 cohort.
The organisation says the limited cohort size is intended to allow participants to receive meaningful mentorship, engage in team activities, interact with peers and gain practical exposure to its work.
Application Process
Applicants will be required to complete an online application form containing basic personal and professional information and a statement of interest explaining their motivation for joining the programme.
Applications will undergo a competitive selection process. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for additional assessments, including a screening exercise and/or interview.
Candidates who progress further may be asked to provide a CV and supporting documents. The organisation also states that selected candidates may be required to provide proof of enrolment in a graduate degree, while CVs should contain two referees.
