Former Netherlands midfielder, Marciano Vink has been impressed with Nigeria forward, Tolu Arokodare achievements since joining Ajax in the summer.

Arokodare joined Ajax on a season loan deal from Wolves after falling out of favor with the English side manager in the summer.

Vink said Arokodare surprised him with his masterclass performance after joining the club which he never expected such instant impact at the club

“I didn’t expect him to make such an immediate impact,” he said.”

The football Pundit expects Arokodare to improve with his headers while he commends his ball playing ability despite being a towering striker.

He however recalled a game where the Super Eagles star controlled the ball with his chest and used his left leg to have a shot at goal which went wide.

“Only the heading could be a bit better, but that move reveals a lot. He can really play football well for such a strong, big player.

“That chance for Tolu, which he controlled on his chest and then shot wide with his left. He took it a bit too much on the outside of his foot this time, causing it to go wide.”

Vink hailed the big forward fierce approach to goal which reveals the striker’s footballing class.

“But that is really impressive, in tight space for such a big and strong guy. It’s a good thing the ball didn’t go straight into the top corner, because then it would be the goal of the year.

“That whole move reveals so much footballing class.”

Arokodare has found the back of the net five times in eight matches across all competitions this season for Ajax.

The Dutch giants have played five matches this season and have gotten three wins, one loss and a draw. Their recent win was the 5-1 humiliation of Willem 11 in the Eredivisie.
