Nigerian Community Seeks Family of Man Who Died Alone in New Jersey

A Nigerian man identified as Alhaji Lanre Rasaki Adio, believed to be originally from Ebute-Metta, Lagos, has reportedly died in his apartment in Newark, New Jersey, United States, leaving members of the Nigerian community searching for his family in Nigeria.

According to a message circulating among Nigerians in the United States, Adio was believed to be a retired staff member of the Lagos State Government before relocating to the United States.
He reportedly lived alone in an apartment in Newark, where Nigerian neighbours had been making efforts to establish contact with his relatives in Nigeria.

The search for his family became urgent after Adio reportedly slumped and died on Sunday evening, American time.
Those who knew him are now appealing to Nigerians, particularly people from Ebute-Metta and the Lagos State community, to help identify and locate his relatives so that the appropriate arrangements can be made following his death.
