U20 Women’s World Cup: Aduku Flags Defensive Concerns Despite Huge Win Against New Caledonia

Nigeria U20 women’s national team gaffer, Moses Aduku has set his sights in solving the teams defensive problems as they advance to the round of 16 of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The Falconets tore New Caledonia apart 10-1 to record their biggest win of the competition after their initial struggles against Spain and China.
The emphatic victory in their final Group F match on Sunday lifted Moses Aduku’s team to second place in the group behind Spain and set up a last-16 clash with England.
Aduku was elated with the number of goals scored which contributed to Nigeria’s qualification to the next round.
“We’re really happy with the goals we scored today. We wanted to get through to the last 16, and we’ve shown that we can do it,” Aduku told FIFA.
He further acknowledged the team’s weakness which that will be worked on ahead of their round of 16 encounter against England.
“We’ve shipped a few too many goals in this tournament so far, so we’ll be looking to shore things up at the back.”
Nigeria will hope to go past the round of 16 when they face a huge test against England on Thursday.
The Falconets last reached the quarter final of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup at the 2022 edition in Costa Rica where they lost 2-0 to Netherlands in August 21.
