Call for Applications: LeadGreen Fellowship Cohort 4 for Young Africans
Young Africans passionate about climate action, environmental sustainability and community development are invited to apply for the LeadGreen Fellowship Cohort 4 (2026).
The 12-week fellowship is designed to equip emerging environmental changemakers with practical knowledge, leadership skills, mentorship and a pan-African network to help them take meaningful action in their communities.

About the LeadGreen Fellowship
LeadGreen is a youth-focused environmental leadership initiative supporting young Africans who want to understand environmental challenges and develop practical solutions within their communities.
The fellowship combines online learning, live masterclasses, peer learning, expert conversations and practical environmental missions.
Participants are expected to move beyond learning about climate and environmental issues by identifying challenges in their communities and taking measurable action to address them.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to young Africans who meet the programme’s eligibility requirements.
Applicants should:
- Be 18 to 29 years old;
- Be enrolled in university or have recently graduated;
- Come from a low-income or first-generation background;
- Have an interest in environmental sustainability and community impact;
- Be willing to participate actively throughout the 12-week programme;
- Be able to commit approximately three hours per week to the fellowship.
Previous leadership experience is not strictly required. What matters is the applicant’s willingness to learn, take initiative and create positive change.

Fully Online Programme
The LeadGreen Fellowship is delivered online and in a self-paced format, allowing participants to combine the programme with their studies, work and other commitments.
The 12-week experience requires approximately three hours of participation each week, including course materials, live peer sessions and work on community-project activities.
Programme Impact
LeadGreen says its growing community has reached more than 2,000 fellows across Africa, with fellows involved in hundreds of community projects and environmental initiatives.
The programme is aimed at building a network of young Africans who can turn environmental awareness into practical, community-level action.
