Lagos APC Campaign Goes High-Tech As 1,000 Drones Light Up Sky For Tinubu, Hamzat

Obanikoro, Ajala, Fatodu Applaud Technology-Driven Campaign Initiative

LAGOS — The 2027 political campaign in Lagos has taken a high-tech turn as SkyPixels Ltd, in partnership with the KOHmmunity Movement, deployed 1,000 synchronised drones for a spectacular aerial display at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The drone light show featured coordinated campaign messages endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027 and supporting the governorship ambition of Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in Lagos State.

The technology-driven activation attracted prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director-General of the Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Governorship Campaign; Hon. Rasaq Ajala, Deputy Director-General of the campaign; Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission; Hon. Ibrahim Obanikoro, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Parastatals Monitoring Office; and Prince Deji Aladegbemi, Coordinator of the KOHmmunity Movement, among other dignitaries.

The initiative is linked to an existing partnership between SkyPixels, a drone light-show and outdoor advertising company led by Mr Rotimi Makanjuola, and the Lagos State Sports Commission through its drone soccer programme.

The drone soccer initiative promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education by combining technology with sports and youth development.

The KOHmmunity Movement, a citizen-led grassroots platform advocating support for Hamzat’s 2027 governorship ambition, partnered with SkyPixels for the latest activation as part of its pan-Lagos engagement strategy.

The organisers said the initiative was designed to demonstrate how technology, sports and grassroots mobilisation could be combined to reach a new generation of voters and communicate political messages in innovative ways.

The spectacular aerial display also underscored the growing role of digital technology and creative communication in Nigeria’s emerging 2027 political campaigns, particularly in Lagos, where political mobilisation increasingly extends beyond traditional rallies and street-level engagements.

The presence of senior APC campaign officials and government representatives further highlighted the political significance attached to the technology-led activation.

With the 2027 elections approaching, political movements across Lagos are expected to intensify their grassroots mobilisation, public engagement and media campaigns as parties position their preferred candidates ahead of the polls.
