The Chairman of OdiOlowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande, on Thursday announced the resumption of the popular JAKO Jollof free feeding initiative across all 28 public primary schools in the council area.

The social welfare scheme is designed to boost classroom concentration and ease the burden on vulnerable households by providing pupils with nutritious meals every Friday.

In preparation for a smooth rollout, Dr. Jakande held an interactive session at the council secretariat with designated food vendors and supervisors. He charged the handlers to strictly uphold food safety and hygiene standards, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering improved nutritional value to the children.

Speaking on behalf of the team, the food supervisors and vendors commended the chairman for empowering local caterers through the programme. They pledged to sustain high culinary standards and supply wholesome meals that promote the growth and well-being of the pupils.

The next phase of the feeding programme is expected to reach an expanded number of students across the locality. The initiative forms part of the administration’s broader HEWA Agenda, which prioritises grassroots development, social security and qualitative primary education.
