Lagos Opens New Hostel Facilities For Student Nurses At Igando

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned new hostel facilities at the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando, as part of efforts to improve the learning and living conditions of student nurses.
Sanwo-Olu said the new facilities would provide students with a safe and modern environment to live, study and undergo professional training.
The governor disclosed this in a post on his official X account, describing the investment in student accommodation as part of the state’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery.
“Today, I commissioned new hostel facilities at the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He said providing suitable accommodation for healthcare trainees would create a more conducive environment for them to focus on their studies and professional development.
“Providing a safe and modern living environment for our student nurses is an investment in the future of healthcare across Lagos,” he said.
According to the governor, improving the conditions available to healthcare professionals during training would ultimately benefit the communities they would serve.
“When our training healthcare professionals have the right space to live, study and thrive, the entire community benefits,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu said the state government remained focused on delivering practical projects aimed at improving residents’ quality of life and addressing needs across different sectors.
“We are staying focused on delivering practical improvements that touch real lives,” he said.
He added that the commissioning of the hostel facilities was another step towards the administration’s vision of building a stronger and more reliable Lagos.
