MTN Foundation Opens Phase 8 ICT, Business Skills Training — Apply Now
The MTN Foundation has opened applications for the eighth phase of its ICT and Business Skills Training Programme.
This training offers young Nigerian women running microbusinesses an opportunity to gain practical digital and entrepreneurial skills.
The five-week programme is designed to help participants adopt technology, strengthen business operations and improve their ability to grow sustainable enterprises.
For Phase 8, the initiative will train 3,000 female microbusiness owners between the ages of 18 and 35 across Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano and Gombe states.
What the Programme Offers
Participants will undergo a five-week blended learning programme combining:
- Self-paced online learning
- Instructor-led training sessions
- Masterclasses delivered by experienced entrepreneurs
- A capstone project challenge
- Data support to facilitate participation
The programme is focused on practical, technology-driven skills that entrepreneurs can apply directly to their businesses.
₦100 Million Equipment Grant Fund
One of the major highlights of Phase 8 is an ₦100 million equipment grant fund.
The top 100 participants will be eligible to receive equipment grants of up to ₦1 million each to support the growth and development of their businesses.
The grant is intended to help successful participants acquire equipment that can improve productivity and strengthen their business operations.
Who Can Apply?
The opportunity is specifically targeted at Nigerian women aged 18 to 35 who meet the programme’s business and location requirements.
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian females aged 18–35;
- Own and manage a microbusiness;
- Have a business that has been operating for no more than two years; and
- Operate the business in Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano or Gombe State.
Programme Track Record
The ICT and Business Skills Training initiative has been running since 2018, with MTN Foundation reporting that 15,362 young microbusiness owners have completed the programme across 29 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Previous phases have been implemented in collaboration with organisations including Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Cisco, Meta and Microsoft.
MTN Foundation also reports that 1,100 previous recipients have received equipment grants worth a combined ₦430 million, demonstrating the programme’s broader focus on helping young entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses.
Application Deadline
Applications for the MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 8 will close on October 11, 2026.
Eligible women entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline and take advantage of the opportunity to acquire new digital skills and compete for equipment support.
