New 40 Bed Hospital Brings Healthcare Closer to Alimosho Residents

Residents of Alimosho Local Government are set to benefit from improved access to healthcare and recreational facilities following the completion of a new 40 bed hospital and children’s recreation centre facilitated through the Sustainable Development Goals Office.
The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, inspected the facilities ahead of their commissioning, saying the projects would bring essential services closer to residents and reduce the burden of seeking quality healthcare outside the community.
The hospital is designed to provide a range of medical services, with separate wards for male and female patients, a children’s unit, antenatal services, intensive care facilities, a recovery unit, surgical department and VIP section.
The facility also includes accommodation for resident doctors, a development expected to support the availability of medical personnel and improve the delivery of healthcare services to patients.
For residents, the hospital could mean easier access to medical attention, particularly for pregnant women, children, elderly people and patients requiring admission or surgical care.
Akinpelu said the facility had been comprehensively equipped to provide quality and affordable healthcare, describing it as a major intervention that would strengthen healthcare delivery in the densely populated community.
He expressed appreciation to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Chief Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, for facilitating the project and other development interventions within the Alimosho Federal Constituency.
“This is really huge, and on behalf of myself and the entire management team, I sincerely appreciate and thank Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, for bringing this gigantic project, and a hospital for that matter, to Alimosho Local Government,” he said.
The chairman also inspected the adjoining children’s recreation centre, which is expected to provide a safe space for children to play and engage in recreational activities during school holidays and festive periods.
The facility is expected to give families within the area an additional option for safe recreation while providing children with an environment where they can relax and socialise.
Akinpelu urged residents to take advantage of the hospital once it becomes operational, stressing that access to affordable and quality healthcare should be within the reach of the people.
He also recalled other interventions facilitated through the SDGs Office, including the recent upgrade of the Gowon Police Station, as part of efforts to improve public infrastructure and services within the constituency.
The inspection came ahead of the planned commissioning of the hospital and recreation centre, with the chairman expressing optimism that both facilities would improve the quality of life of residents.
