LASU Uploads Outstanding English Department Results, Rules Out Extra Year For Qualified Students

Lagos State University (LASU) has confirmed that all outstanding results in the Department of English have been uploaded, assuring eligible final-year students that they will graduate with their peers and will not be required to spend an extra year.
The explanation followed an internal enquiry into assertion that approximately 100 graduating students encountered potential delays because some 300-level results had not been uploaded by lecturers. The reports had spread on social media and raised concerns about possible setbacks to the 2025/2026 academic session graduation.
In a statement issued yesterday, the university management stated that the Department of English completed the upload of all outstanding results by 23 August 2026.
“Therefore, all students who have fulfilled all requirements for graduation will graduate with their peers in the just-concluded 2025/2026 academic session,” the statement said. “No student who has met all graduation requirements will be required to spend an additional year base on the issue raised.”
The university furthermore noted that any student whose result remains outstanding after this action has yet to fulfil the necessary graduation requirements and is advised to complete them accordingly.
Lagos State University reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that students who satisfy all academic and administrative conditions are not unduly delayed in completing their programmes.
