JAMB Introduces Online O’Level Result Verification System For 2026 UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced an online platform that enables candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, removing the need to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for this purpose.

Under the new arrangement, proclaimed by the Board’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB will verify candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies that conducted the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

The strategy is designed to make the process easier, faster, safer and more suitable. It also solicit to address established challenges associated with manual uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up certificates, the submission of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors arising from the manual entry of subjects and grades.

Candidates begin by visiting the designated verification portal, entering their National Identification Number, selecting the number of sittings and the relevant examination body, providing contact details, and completing the required payment. After presenting their examination number, series and year, they receive a Verification Code. Sending the word “VERIFY” followed by the code to 55019 or 66019 completes the upload, after which a notification is issued.

Candidates with results from two sittings are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility profile, select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload,” enter the Verification Code, and choose between five and nine subjects without repetition before applying the results.

The Board noted that the system will be particularly useful during periods of high demand at CBT centres, when queues and network challenges are common. By merging its e-Facility platform with examination bodies’ records, JAMB aims to ensure greater accuracy and reduce unnecessary physical visits.

This advancement marks a further step in the Board’s ongoing efforts to streamline services for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
