Did Ola Best Flee to Canada With Ajo Money? As Woli Arole, Apa Raise Alarm

Did gospel singer Ola Best flee to Canada with money from a monthly thrift contribution, popularly known as Ajo?

That is the question generating controversy after Nigerian comedian-turned-prophet Woli Arole and actor Sanusi Izihaq, popularly known as Apa, accused the singer of allegedly travelling to Canada while members of the thrift scheme were yet to receive their contributions.

Woli Arole raised the alarm in an Instagram post on Friday, claiming that the group started the monthly contribution in January and that he was scheduled to collect the money in August.

He alleged that Ola Best’s phone number was no longer reachable but that he saw a WhatsApp post indicating that the singer had arrived in Canada.

“I’m sending this video to you and I’m making it public. The next video I’m going to do, I’m going to mention your name. We started the contribution in January and na me dey collect for this August.

“Oga pay my owo ajo. Your number is not reachable. You wrote thank God for journey mercy in your WhatsApp story. I saw you in Canada. Your number must be reachable in the next few hours or else I will mention your name,” Woli Arole said.

Apa, who also participated in the thrift scheme, said Woli Arole introduced him to the monthly contribution.

He said he tried contacting the administrator after seeing Woli Arole’s post but was unable to reach him.

“Woli Arole, I don’t understand your last post but what I can tell the public is that you’re the one that introduced me to the monthly thrift. Now after your post, I tried to call the admin but his number is not going through,” Apa said.

However, Ola Best has denied fleeing with the money, saying he only recently travelled to Canada.

Responding in an Instagram video, the singer said he arrived in Canada 2 days earlier after being granted a 2-year visa and asked Woli Arole to give him time to settle the matter.

“Baba, Woli Arole, you are our father. You can’t be going around social media because of Ajo. I just arrived in Canada 2 days ago. I was given a 2-year visa. Give me some time to pay your money. You can’t be shouting because of thrift money,” Ola Best said.

The allegations and response have since triggered reactions on social media, with the parties presenting different accounts of the circumstances surrounding the thrift contributions and Ola Best’s relocation to Canada.
