Igbogbo All Stars Club Appoints Gafar Bolowotan Patron
Hon. Gafar Bolowotan has been appointed the new Patron of Igbogbo All Stars Football Club in recognition of his contributions to sports development and community advancement.
The appointment was formally announced during a novelty football match between Igbogbo All Star Football Club and Ijede All Star Football Club, organised as part of activities marking the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba Barr. Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I.
The patronship certificate was presented to Bolowotan by the monarch during the special football encounter.
For the football club, the appointment is a recognition of Bolowotan’s interest in youth development, grassroots sports and community service.
The club said his appointment was also expected to strengthen its efforts to identify and nurture young football talents while using the sport to promote unity among residents of the community.
The novelty match brought together football enthusiasts, community leaders, residents and other stakeholders as part of the celebrations marking a decade of the Adeboruwa’s reign.
For Igbogbo Kingdom, the 10th coronation anniversary has provided an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s decade on the throne and his contributions to cultural preservation, community development and the growth of the kingdom.
The football match between Igbogbo All Stars and Ijede All Stars formed part of the activities designed to bring the community together through sports and celebration.
Beyond the competition on the pitch, the event also highlighted the role of football in connecting people across communities.
As the kingdom continues with activities marking the monarch’s 10 years on the throne, the appointment of Bolowotan as Patron of Igbogbo All Star Football Club is expected to further strengthen the relationship between sports, youth development and community advancement.
