APC Reps Primaries: Over 10 Aspirants Petition Appeal Committee Over Alleged Irregularities in Lagos
No fewer than 10 aggrieved contestants in the May 16 House of Representatives primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have submitted petitions to the party’s Appeal Committee over alleged irregularities during the exercise.
Among those who filed petitions are Seye Oladejo (Mushin I), Ayo Adewale (Amuwo-Odofin), Hon. Wale Osun (Lagos Mainland), Dr. Dawodu (Oshodi I), Kehinde Bamigbetan (Oshodi II), and Hon. Ganiyu Johnson (Oshodi II).
The Appeal Committee, constituted by the APC leadership to address complaints arising from the primaries, is chaired by Hon. Steve Jings, while Dr. Emmanuel Jurte serves as secretary.
Although details of the petitions were yet to be officially disclosed as of press time, party sources indicated that the complaints border on alleged irregularities and disputes over the conduct and outcome of the primaries in some constituencies.
The committee is expected to review the submissions and make recommendations to the party leadership in line with APC guidelines for the conduct of primary elections.
