AMVCA 2026: Complete List of Winners Across All Categories
The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2026 was held on Saturday night at Eko Hotel and Suites, bringing together some of Africa’s biggest names in film, television and digital entertainment.
The annual awards ceremony celebrates outstanding achievements in African storytelling across multiple categories, including acting, directing, production, cinematography and digital content creation.
One of the biggest winners of the night was My Father’s Shadow, which clinched the Best Overall Movie award, while Akinola Davies Jr. won Best Director for the same production.
In the acting categories, Bucci Franklin won Best Supporting Actor for To Kill A Monkey, while Linda Ejiofor took home Best Supporting Actress for The Herd.
Uzor Arukwe emerged Best Lead Actor for Colours Of Fire, while Linda Ejiofor also won Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift, further cementing her strong performance at the awards.
In television and streaming categories, Inimba was named Best Scripted Series, while Nigerian Idol Season 10 won Best Unscripted Series.
The Best Digital Content Creator award went to Emmanuel Kanaga and Sophia Chisom, recognising their growing influence in online storytelling.
Other notable winners included Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, which won Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), and Hussaini, which won Best Short Film.
Technical categories also saw strong competition, with My Father’s Shadow winning Best Cinematography and Best Sound Design, while To Kill A Monkey secured Best Editing.
Special recognition awards were also presented, with Uche Montana receiving the Trailblazer Award, while veteran actors Sola Sobowale and Kanayo O. Kanayo were honoured with Industry Merit Awards for their long-standing contributions to African cinema.
The 2026 AMVCA once again highlighted the depth of African talent, celebrating creativity across film, television and digital media while reinforcing Nollywood’s position as a leading global entertainment industry.
