The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the outcome of the recent by-elections in Rivers State, Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a strong endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released after the polls, the party expressed appreciation to voters across the affected constituencies, saying the victories recorded by its candidates reflect growing public confidence in the President’s leadership and policy direction.

According to the Lagos APC, the results amount to a “clear and unmistakable referendum” on the Tinubu presidency and the progressive principles guiding governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party maintained that the electorate’s decision demonstrates recognition of what it described as bold economic reforms, infrastructural expansion and institutional strengthening at both federal and state levels.

“At a time when detractors have sought to misrepresent the direction of the country, Nigerians have spoken decisively through the ballot,” the statement said, adding that the outcome shows voters understand that nation-building requires patience and continuity.

The APC also took a swipe at opposition parties, accusing them of failing to provide credible alternatives. It argued that online political activism and social media influence did not translate into electoral gains at the polls.

“Democracy is decided at the ballot box, not on digital platforms,” the party stated, insisting that performance and grassroots engagement remain the determining factors in elections.

Looking ahead, the Lagos APC suggested that the by-election momentum could signal favourable prospects for the ruling party in the 2027 general elections.

The party commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the elections and praised security agencies for maintaining order throughout the process.

It also acknowledged the efforts of party members, campaign teams and volunteers, attributing the victories to disciplined mobilisation and grassroots support.

Reaffirming its backing for the President, the Lagos APC called on Nigerians across party lines to support ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s democracy and fostering national development.
