Gambian-born Nigerian actress Rosy Meurer has dismissed claims that she snatched her husband, Olakunle Churchill, from actress Tonto Dikeh.
In a series of videos shared on Instagram, Meurer refuted rumours that she unfollowed her husband on social media following his celebration of his son’s birthday with Dikeh. She insisted that she never unfollowed him and described the reports as false.
“I got a lot of calls today from people asking why I unfollowed my husband on Instagram. I never unfollowed him, and I never will. When I go to his page, it still shows that I am following,” she said, suggesting a possible technical glitch or deliberate mischief.
Meurer stated that her husband is currently in Lagos spending time with his son and expressed support for their bonding. She criticised the timing of the rumour, noting that it surfaced on the child’s birthday.
Addressing longstanding allegations that she was once friends with Dikeh and later took her husband, Meurer denied ever having a personal relationship with the actress.
“I was never my husband’s ex’s friend. I have never met or seen her. We don’t have each other’s numbers,” she said, adding that narratives portraying her as a close friend who betrayed Dikeh were untrue.
She further explained that when Churchill was married, he was like a brother to her and supported her career, but they were not romantically involved at the time. Meurer said she had no knowledge of what transpired between him and his former wife.
The actress maintained that she harbours no ill will, loves all her husband’s children, and urged the public to allow their family privacy.
