A 30-year-old suspect, Oluwaseun Opadola, is facing prosecution over an alleged rape on a food seller in Ogudu.
Opadola was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court where the Prosecutor, Adegoke Ademigbuji, said that he contravened the Lagos State laws and is deserving of prosecution and sentencing.
Ademigbuji mentioned that the accused, who lives at 25, Leadway, Agbede, in Ikorodu, Lagos, is on one-count of rape over the incident which happened on December 25 at the Kosice Local Government premises.
The Prosecutor uttered that the defendant met the 23-year-old victim near the government office and asked her to prepare noodles and egg and then bring same to his office.
Ademigbuji added that Opadola, when the vendor brought food to him, at the time when when most staff had left, shut the door and raped the victim.
He said that the offence contravenes the provisions of section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Omolara Kushanu, did not take the defendant’s plea, rather she directed that he remains remanded in custody until March 15, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
