The family of veteran Nigerian actor Pete Edochie has involved the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest a TikToker who falsely claimed the actor had died.
The false report went viral on social media, prompting Pete Edochie’s first son, Leo Edochie, to label the rumours “a lie from the pit of hell” in a video shared on Instagram.
In a Facebook post on Thursday evening, Leo confirmed that he had contacted the DSS to pursue the TikToker, whose handle is @ONE_BOR 001. He also announced a cash reward for anyone providing information leading to the individual’s arrest.
Leo wrote:
“This young man posted a video on TikTok that our father is dead. Anyone with information that will lead to his arrest will be handsomely rewarded in cash. I have contacted DSS and they are on his trail. DM me with the information, as soon as he is arrested, you will get your reward in cash.”
The family and actor’s management had earlier debunked the death rumours, reaffirming that Pete Edochie is alive.
