Team Ogudu clinches ₦1 Million as Kosofe Chairman’s Cup Third Edition ends in Grand Style

Team Ogudu has emerged champions of the 3rd Edition of the Kosofe Chairman’s Cup All Wards Football Competition, pocketing the ₦1 million grand prize as the tournament wrapped up in a colourful and well-attended finale on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

The grassroots football competition, organised by the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, was held at Emmanuel Primary School, Ojota, and featured teams from the seven wards within the local government.

After weeks of competitive fixtures and impressive displays, Team Ogudu showcased superior skill, discipline and teamwork in the final match to clinch the coveted title. Team Anthony finished as runners-up and received a cash prize of ₦500,000, while Team Orile-Oworo secured third place, earning ₦250,000.

The final match was characterised by thrilling football action, high energy from players and supporters, and lively entertainment, turning the venue into a celebration of sports, unity and youth participation.

The event attracted several dignitaries and stakeholders, including the Member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, as well as the Special Guest of Honour, Dr. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Director-General of the City Boy Movement, among others.

Speaking on the success of the competition, the Chairman’s Cup was described as another testament to the Ogunlewe administration’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement and the promotion of sports at the grassroots level.

Over the years, the Kosofe Chairman’s Cup has continued to provide a platform for discovering young football talents, fostering unity among youths across wards, and promoting healthy competition within the local government, further reinforcing sports as a vital tool for social development.
