Kaka Commends Ongoing Construction of Nursing School In Epe

The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre in Epe, Adesola Kaka, has commended the ongoing construction of a nursing school in Epe, stating that the facility will build local capacity and improve healthcare delivery when completed.

Kaka, who disclosed that the infrastructure development put in place as part of efforts to enable affordable healthcare to the residents in Epe as well as Lagos State at large, added that the initiative is a testament of the government’s broader goal of investing in the next generation of medical professionals.

The MD also held that the project would open new opportunities for intending medical students in the community and close communities to pursue nursing courses to further develop in their careers.

“The school of nursing, inside the Federal Medical Centre in Epe, is a critical part of our vision, said Kaka.

“Construction of the hostel is ongoing and the main college building has already been awarded. Once completed, it will help build local capacity and improve healthcare delivery across Lagos State and Nigeria.”

On happenings at the FMC, he said that the hospital has recorded visible improvements across several departments including pediatrics, orthopedics and laboratory services with more specialists expected to join soon.

“We appreciate the Lagos State Government for allowing some of their staff to stay until the FMC staff are fully deployed,” Kaka stated.

“We appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the centre and ensuring it’s peaceful and successful implementation as well as integrating state and national health insurance schemes to ease financial burden on patients.”
