Over 50 Residents To Benefit From Jako Bus Empowerment

Residents of OdiOlowo Ojuwoye LCDA are set to be the beneficiaries of 50 buses set to be distributed by the council chairman, Dr Seyi Jakande.
Jakande supervised the screening of applicants under the JAKO Bus Empowerment Programme at the council secretariat.
A total of 50 applicants appeared before the screening panel, where they were assessed through questions and interactions to determine their eligibility for the scheme.
Successful beneficiaries will be selected one from each ward to ensure equitable representation across the LCDA. Their names are expected to be announced soon.
Speaking after the exercise, Jakande described the programme as a key pillar of his HEWA Agenda, aimed at creating sustainable economic opportunities, reducing unemployment and easing transportation challenges.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of applicants and the transparency of the process, assuring residents that the initiative would be sustained in future phases to benefit more people.
The JAKO Bus Empowerment Programme has generated excitement among residents, who view it as a practical step toward inclusive development.
