Popular TikToker, Olaoluwa Segun, has opened up about his harrowing experience after being detained over a petition filed by actress Dayo Amusa.

Segun had, in July 2025, listed Amusa among celebrities he claimed were living with HIV. The actress swiftly debunked the allegation, clarifying that her 2019 post on HIV was strictly for awareness and education. She also vowed to make Segun a scapegoat for spreading false information.

Speaking in a video on Tuesday, Segun revealed that he was held for two days at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, describing it as the worst experience of his life since his mother’s death.

“Immediately I entered the cell, a rugged-looking guy ordered me to prostrate and greet them. There’s no furniture, only four pit latrines and one uncovered window where mosquitoes kept trooping in,” he recounted.

He explained that the stench from the latrines was unbearable since there were no doors separating them from the cell. Segun added that he was spared harsh treatment after one of the cell leaders recognized him as a TikTok content creator.

According to him, the overcrowded cell housed 60 inmates, and he was told it was the same cell where singer Naira Marley was once detained.

Despite the ordeal, Segun expressed gratitude to Dayo Amusa for later deciding to forgive him, saying her change of heart prevented a longer stay behind bars.
