Court Remands Man For Stealing Electric Cable In Ikorodu

A man, Seun Olakunle, who is facing court trial over allegations of stealing an electric cable has been remanded in prison for further prosection.
Olakunle, 40, was put before the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos where the Police stated that the be broke into the apartment of one Olawale Abimbola to steal the item.
The Prosecutor, Aminu Isaac, said that the suspect, on June 19, at about 6am, at building 5, Aligoda Street in Oreyo area of Ikorodu, stole the property valued at N3 million.
Isaac said that the defendant, stealing the property, has violated the provisions of Sections 307(2), 339 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The policeman added that Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for theft.
The Presiding Magistrate, Bola Sonuga, adjourned the case till July 17 to review facts and sentencing.
