NDLEA Intercepts Illicit Drug Packaged As Tea In Lagos

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted no fewer than 66 parcels of Loud, a strong strain of cannabis, packaged as green tea at the import shed of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
The seizure was based on credible intelligence received ahead of the arrival of the consignment at the cargo wing of the airport on 11th May.
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said the drugs disguised as tea were recovered at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the NDLEA officers, acting on credible intelligence, seized 66 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, disguised as green tea.
He added that two suspects, identified as Gidado Abdulrasaq Ayinde and Obanla Oluwafemi, were arrested at the scene.
