Will Lookman End His Goal Drought Against Lazio On Saturday?

Reigning African Footballer of The Year, Ademola Lookman, is enduring a goal drought against SS Lazio since his move to Italian Serie A side, Atalanta BC. However, Saturday presents him a chance to smash the jinx.

Lookman, whose side are currently at the summit of the Serie A will face-off against the La Aquille, 8:45 pm, at the Stadio Olmpico today.

The Super Eagles attacker continues to be phenomenal to the Bergamo based side having ammassed 12 goals and five assists in 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

Since completing a move to the Atalanta in 2022, the 27-year old has scored 33 goals in 77 appearances. However, none of the goals have come in his three meetings against Lazio.

The former Everton forward can nevertheless bank on his side’s impressive performance against Lazio to end his goal barren stats. Atalanta have lost just one of their last six visits to the Olimpico, wining three.

A win today will see Atalanta will finish top of Serie at the end of a calendar year – the first time in their 116-year history.
