The young people of Mushin Local Government received a major boost to their morale and enthusiasm as the Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye, offered a significant incentive for educational advancement: the promise of bursary awards for successful completion of the GCE examination and admission into a university in Nigeria.
During the presentation ceremony for the 2024 edition of Free GCE forms to deserving students at the council secretariat, Chairman Bamigboye urged the beneficiaries of this government-sponsored initiative to maximize the opportunity and use it as a stepping-stone to a brighter future.
Further reinforcing his dedication to promoting academic success, Chairman Emmanuel Bamigboye, honored by the “Best Chairman in Roads and Rural Integration” award, reassured the young people of Mushin Local Government of his unwavering support in helping them realize their dreams of higher education.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by aspiring students, the Chairman pledged to provide financial bursaries, upon admission, to assist them with registration fees, thereby facilitating their transition into university life and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic progress.
The Council Boss also used the opportunity to urge the youths towards cultivating the habit of reading in order to excel and make their parents proud.
While reading out some of the programmes executed by his administration towards building good legacy and support for educational development in Mushin Local Government, the chairman mentioned distribution of the annual GCE & JAMB forms to indigent students who have secured admission into higher institutions, annual bursary award to students in higher institutions, distribution of Free bags and writing materials for pupils in primary schools across Mushin, construction of classroom block for primary schools, renovation of school buildings and fences, construction of benches and desks for schools and provision of free school tide for both secondary and primary school students across Mushin both in the morning and afternoon.
In his final remarks, the council mayor promised to continue with the legacy of not leaving any stone unturned in ensuring that the youths and general public enjoy the dividends of democracy through improved educational standards, numerous infrastructural development, healthcare services and other skills acquisition/empowerment programmes.
While expressing their appreciation to the chairman and council authority, three of the beneficiaries thanked the management for the kind gesture and prayed for the success of the Bamigboye led administration.
In her vote of thanks, the Head of Education department in Mushin Local Government, Mrs. Bimbola Oguntoye, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for his support and assistance towards the education department, especially, his passion for the transformation and development of education in Mushin and its environs.
