Four clubs will fight for glory in the grand finale of the Cardinal Odunmbaku Gold Cup at the Legacy pitch, national Stadium Surulere on Saturday, November third.
The men’s final will see Bucknor FC challenge Glory Boys FC, while Aseyori Queens will trade tackles with Future Stars 99 in the women’s final.
Speaking to ECHONEWS, the organizer of the competition, Prince Sulaimon Gbadamosi appreciated the sponsors and urged the finalists to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.
In the men’s top scorers chart, Anthony Joseph has four goals, Nnamdi Nwafor (Four goals), John Okoro (Four goals), Nurudeen Olamilekan (Three goals), Timi Feranmi (Three goals), Seyi Eluwande (Three goals), Oluwasegun Oderinde (Two goals) and Shittu Olanrewaju (Two goals).
Aseyori Queens Tesleemat Balogun leads the goal scorers chart in the women’s category with three goals, Rodiat Adebisi of SGH Sports Amazons has three goals, Ayomide Mustapha (Two goals), Maria Ajayi (Two goals), Benita Emmanuel (Two goals), Rodiat Busari (Two goals).
Guests expected to be at the final of the Cardinal Odunmbaku Gold Cup are, Chief of staff to Lagos State governor, Tayo Ayinde, Honorable Odunmbaku Segun, Director general of the Lagos State Sport Commission (LSSC), Gafar Bolowotan, chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Ogboni Fouad Oki, and licensed scouts from Portugal.
Others are, Chief Iyk Madu Obi, Joseph Dosu, Nigeria ex international, Yusuf Ayila and members of Soul Winners ministry.
KJ Viktoria and Peculiar FC will challenge for the third place game.
Over 50 clubs participated in the 2023 Cardinal Odunmbaku Gold Cup tournament where the trophy will be contested by the two last teams in the men and women category.
