The immediate past member of the Federal House of Representatives in Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency, Hon. James Owolabi (Omo Iya Elewedu) has affirmed that he remains a happy man and bears no grudges against anyone as he offered a thanksgiving service for successful completion of his tenure in office.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ifako-Ijaiye LG, and Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chapters under the leadership of Prophet, Olubode Sobukola and Pastor C.G. Coker co-hosted the thanksgiving service.
in his short message, the CAN Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye LGA, Prophet Sobukola, admonished the celebrant to be grateful to God for His numerous blessings over his life.
He urged Owolabi to let go of all grudges he might have held against anyone as thanksgiving entails forgiving and letting go of all ill actions of the past.
Responding, Owolabi said he remains a happy man and bears no grudges against anyone.
He stated that his political sojourn has been from grass to grace and that he has all reasons to give thanks to God Almighty.
“The time has come for me to leave office having done my best in this regard, I seek forgiveness from those whom I might have offended in the course of my representation at the national assembly, I am indeed very sorry. But for me, I bear no grudges with anyone. I appreciate all the support I enjoyed from CAN, the CDC Ifako-Ijaiye, and Ojokoro from 2019 to date.”
He further stated that the collective effort of the associations and that of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) was the springboard to his becoming a member of the House of Representatives in 2019.
He emphasised that he stepped out of office as a fulfilled man after successfully facilitating Federal government presence in Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency through various programmes and projects ranging from skill acquisition, empowerment relief, and intervention, street-light projects, boreholes for different communities, presentation of transformers, road rehabilitation and construction amongst others.
Other facilitated projects he listed include landmark education infrastructure to his constituency through the two newly constructed Ultra-modern Local Government Model Primary School Obawole in Ifako-Ijaiye and Community Primary School Bioyin in Ojokoro.
He extended his appreciation to notable personalities whose contributions he acknowledged such as the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, the former APC Lagos State Chairman, Alh. Tunde Balogun, Deacon Banjo Omole (APC) Chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye Alh S.A. Adelaja, and a host of others.
