LGSC Gives Orile Agege LCDA Pass Mark On Staff Welfarism

The Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has given Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA) a pass mark over the welfare of the staff members.

The Commission gave the commendation during its visit to the local council to inspect the workers and ascertain staff’s efforts towards moving the council forward.

The Service Commissioner, Hakeem Bamgbala, who represented the commission’s Chairman, Hon Kamal Bayewu, expressed satisfaction over the outcome of their inspection in the council.

He commented: “With what we have seen here today, your council will be highly recommended. I almost don’t believe that I am in a local government.”

The council chairman, Hon. Babatunde Johnson, together with his executive members and management appreciated the commission’s assessment.

Johnson gave thumbs up to the management and staff of the local council whom he described as the best team to work with.

“We are friends and partners in progress in this council. This crop of staff and management members are all wonderful set of people.”

The Permanent Secretary at the Commission, Training and Establishment, Mrs. Bibilomo Olusekun stated that training is essential for self development.

She urged all officers to ensure that they acquire more training to equip themselves to assume more responsibilities that will move the civil service forward.

She added that officers should not see deployment as witch-hunting but as an act meant to improve productivity and to serve efficiently.

She advised all members of staff to go to their duty posts whenever they are redeployed, and that every member of staff should be familiar with the civil service rule particularly, on discipline, appointment, and misconduct among others.

The Council Manager, Dr. Augustine Adekoya while giving the vote of thanks appreciated the commission for deeming it fit to check on staff well-being and welfare.

He promised that the staff will not disappoint the commission.

The entourage included the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and Directors at the statutory visit to Orile Agege (LCDA).
