Entrepreneur enumerates business challenges, seeks govt’s intervention

A business owner, an Haier Thermocool distributor at Oshodi market, Chief Dr. Reuben Ibe Akama (AkA BBC) Eze Udemba1 of Ezinifite, Eze ndi Igbo of Oshodi Isolo LGA, has identified price difference between the online shopping and showroom shopping as the major challenge to business in the orthodox market.

He noted that the online businesses are now gaining more advantage over the orthodox shopping markets due to price difference in term of cost implication.

He added that the orthodox business owners have to put up promos and give away prices to attract patronages at their own cost.

The Manager of the business, Rose Valentine, who spoke to Echonews on the consent of the CEO, who dashed out to attend to pressing issues, added that the increase in tax rate, land use charge also posed to be militating against business to thrive.

She therefore charged the government to rescue the economy of the country, stating that the survivor of any business revolves around the economy.

Valentine suggested that tax payment and land use charge should be minimal and friendly to the pocket.

However, the entrepreneur declared that business environment in Oshodi has been favourable as it kept on enjoying patronage since over two decades of establishment of the business.

She linked the success of the business to high standard quantity, which she said must not be compromised if the business must thrive.
