The chairman of Lagos Island LG, Hon. Prince Tijani Olusi has directed the works department of the local government to begin the construction of drains in the community to prevent flooding.
Olusi stated that the local government started the construction of additional drains just to curb flooding as he commends the residents of their cooperation.
“In our strive to eradicate the problem of flooding within Lagos Island, our administration has embarked on the construction of drainages within Lagos Island.
“The works department has presently moved to Ashogbon Street, where drainage construction is ongoing.
“This is the second phase on Ashogbon Street, the first had been completed with drainage and interlocked stones.
“We appreciate the co-operation and support of all residents and shop owners for their understanding, and we implore them to still bear with us as we strive towards the timely completion of the drainage.”
