Tinubu: Don’t jump the gun, Rahman raps speculators
Tunde Rahman, spokesman to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Thursday asked those spinning a Muslim-Muslim ticket for his boss’ presidential ambition to wait until he decides to run before finding him imaginary vice presidents.
“His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is yet to formally declare for the presidential race, because, as he said a few weeks ago in Abuja, he is at present engaging in intense consultations and deliberations with the various stakeholders.
I think we should not jump the gun. When he makes that declaration, other things will follow.Until he does that, I wil advise that we don’t speculate on his presidential pairing.”
The media has been awash with controversy over a possible Muslim-Muslim ticket in recent times following a statement credited to the director-general of one of the groups on the frontlines of the agitation for the presidential aspiration of the former governor of Lagos State, the Tinubu Support Group.
Expressing his personal opinion on a Channels Television programme, Abdulmumin Jibrin said it does not matter to him how the ticket is paired.
His words:” If you bring a Christian-Christian ticket or a Musim-Muslim presidency or a Muslim-Muslim presidency; for me, personally, it doesn’t matter.”
