While addressing the residents, Olaleye said there is provision for the rehabilitation of the street and other roads across all wards within the council area in the 2020 budget, saying that the work would commence as soon as the budget is passed.

“I want to appeal to your understanding because we might have to pull down fences in the narrow part of the street to bring the road to standard. This is without prejudice to anyone. Development sometimes comes with great sacrifice for the greater good of all,” he said.

The Secretary of Community Development Committee (CDC), Isolo LCDA, Mr. Samuel Fatoye noted that the development would bring life back to the community in terms of economic activities, adding that the street would serve as alternatively route for motorists.

“One, it will boost the economic activities in that environment as many motorists have abandoned plying that road. Two, it will ease the traffic congestion between Orita  up to Aiye Bus Stop because people approaching Osolo way will not necessarily come to Aiye again, and the value of accommodation on that street will also rise.”

He, however, implored residents to co-operate with the contractors and be willing to make sacrifices as requested by the council boss, stressing that it will be to the benefit of all.
